The Art of Spin Doctoring in the Age of Trump

The best spin doctor I ever met was the first one I ever met. His name: Paul Begala. Clean, crisp, and ever ready with a plethora of talking points.

I was working for Senator Harris Wofford (D-PA) in 1991 when I met him and I have never seen anyone supplant him as the Dean of Spin Doctors.

After Tuesday night’s beating, Trump’s team and FoxNews’s best spin doctoring that could put forward was that the debate was 3 on 1. The myth of the “liberal biased” media still gets play today, so kudos.

Other than that, Team Trump had nothing and curiously seemed ill-prepared for the political realism of the moment.

If from Election Day 2020 to last Tuesday night, you’ve made the political world all about you, complaining about it when the questions are all about you is more than simply hypocritical. It’s delusional.

How bad was the debate performance?
