Donald Trump managed to be a bully at Pope's funeral, commit a fashion no-no, and then render the "Sleepy Joe" meme laughable in under 4 hours.

Let’s start with the fact that I am Catholic and once, early in my life, contemplated entering the priesthood.

So I know a few things.

First when a Pope dies¹, which has has happened 6 times in my life, it’s a world event. It makes sense with 1.4 billion Catholics. I was only 2 when when Pope John XXIII died, so I am only cognizant of 5 conclaves² to replace the Holy Father.

The seating order at Pope Francis’ funeral put Donald Trump 3 rows back (Catholic royalty and non-Catholic royalty plus the Cardinals get seated up front).

Had I still been a betting man, I’d have bet sizable funds Donald Trump would bully his way into a front row seat at a funeral.

Okay, take notes. You do not wear anything other than a dark suit at a funeral.

If you need evidence he’s getting the look of revulsion by world leaders. And if you need proof Melania Trump hates him, it’s the fact that she did not make him change his outfit.

And I have sufficient fashion sense to know that an unbuttoned suit and frayed tie make you look like an idiot. Especially at a funeral. Particularly at the Pope’s funeral.

So if you bully your way into the “best seats” at the Pope’s funeral, which should shock the conscience of anyone who knows if you think it’s a contest, you’ve lost your political senses; do not fall asleep and snore.
