More subpoenas in the meatiest of Trump cases - Part I
or why Georgia and Sedition are strictly side dishes for the DOJ
The three course prosecution being plated up by Attorney General Merrick Garland is not the entrée the Democrats or the political Left have been drooling about for the past 20 months, but both may be suprised by its deliciousness.
Cafe DOJ has looked like it would stick with its best sellers from the January 6th Insurrection — various versions of seditious conduct. Nine Hundred and Ten orders taken and its popularity of late is being measured in years.1
A proffered delicacy that could easily be on the federal menu is still being tested in a smaller restaurant 639 miles south. The Georgia grand jury investigation into Trump’s election meddling looks like it could easily be the chef’s speciality.2
The problem with making taking Fulton County DA Fani Willis’s grand jury investigation Cafe DOJ’s signature dish is not that Chef Garland wants to see if election meddling indictments sell to more conservative palates first, but a case of having a multi-page grand jury menu already.
Washington, D.C. has 2,333 restaurants — only 72 have Zagat ratings of 4.5 or better.3 Merrick Garland is more Old Ebbits Grill than Donald Trump and the political Right’s taste buds want to admit.
Garland’s success has been built on quietly cooking up defendants and dealing with complaints4 with little more than a shrug of “can’t please everyone.” In addition, he’s been letting his detractors5 and supporters know that Cafe DOJ has a lease that will not come up for renewal for another 2 years, 4 months, and 5 days.
And his Val-Pak marketing
comes in the form of subpoenas6 guarantees a full Cafe DOJ7 in the months to come.
