Sean Hannity, who implored his viewers not to watch the January 6th Committee Hearings, is now absolutely obsessed its every discovery, fact, and witness to a degree that rivals crazed sports fans.
FoxNews, which employs several commentators (including Hannity) implicated in the January 6th Insurrection, has taken a dual tact on January 6th: it’s illegitimate or a nothingburger.
Its illegitimacy has already been rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court. The nothingburger aspect will likely become a bacon-wrapped filet mignon stuffed with a mushroom duxelle by week’s end once Pat Cipollone testifies. The bearnaise sauce will be Sarah Matthews testimony next week.
Gourmand allusions aside, Donald Trump’s psychological profile becomes clearer and more focused some 16 months since he left office. It has been a decided mistake to take the view that Donald Trump is a devotee of Hitler as a political model.
The Trump plan, as per Hutchinson et al., was to allow his mob, his armed mob per his orders to the Secret Service, to be led by Trump himself to the Capitol to do what Vice-President Mike Pence was unwilling to do — to stop the certification of Joseph R. Biden, Jr. as the President-Elect of the United State and allow Trump retain power illegally and unconstitutionally.
Assemble. Arm. Lead. The definition of a coup d'etat and a seditious conspiracy thereto. That’s not Hitler. That’s Mussolini1. And the March on Rome2.
King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy, who held supreme military power over Italy, handed over power to Benito Mussolini after Prime Minister Luigi Facta’s party was unable to retain power after the 1922 elections.
Trump’s conduct on January 6th went from merely impeachable to indictable. Ask anyone.3 And the hearsay rule is not likely to be Trump’s savior4.
Adolph Hiltler was not a political strongman nor was he much of an ideologue — he left that to others. Il Duce was the opposite - a political strongman who defined the fascist ideology (and always to suit his personal needs).
Nihilistic tendencies of Trump aside, the January 6th Insurrection is more March on Rome than Beer Hall Putsch. And the Democrats would do well to message some history here - the Nazis came to power after winning in 1932, the Fascists took power in Italy after losing in 1919.
The Left needs to call January 6th for what is was — an attempt to overthrow the government. And bring up Mussolini..a lot.

You are correct, but "what if" the GOP and their supporters simply decide to ignore that, get him on the ballot (or write him in) then let the rigged legislatures simply put their own electors in. That's what they are currently working on setting now.
But you said prison won't happen. Doesn't that mean we should just forget about it and let the fascists have the country?
